Can it Be Mo's?
So who has gone to the Central Oregon Coast and felt they NEEDED to go to Mo's because it's an establishment. I have always felt that way. My family whenever at the Coast head to a Mo's and wait in line (because it is usually at the busy time that we are at the coast- Spring Break) and we get our Clam Chowder from Mo's. Sure, its good, and legend (wait for it) dairy, but here's the thing- Is it still the best clam chowder??
I am certain now that it is not. I remember a time when Mo's was very creamy chowder. Of course it has all fresh ingredients, and still tastes good, but there seems to be something missing. I have found that I enjoy the chowder at McGraths more than I do at Mo's.
What's more, we were in Lincoln City today for lunchtime and we had already been to Mo's last night for dinner, so for lunch we went to the McMenamins. Mom and I both had chowder there and THAT chowder was AMAZING! The thickness of the chowder was great, very creamy, and their ingredients were great. I could taste alot of spices. Mom said something very interesting- She said that it seems like Mo's is just going off of reputation now, and not so much off of the need to make a good product. (I'm Paraphrasing) Anyways, I would recommend trying out new Chowder places even if you still like Mo's. There's lots of good chowder places out there, and they don't have to be Mo's.

Spring Break w/ a meeting.
Spring Break is always nice right? Who wouldn't want time off at the end of March for a vaca with the fam. I was able to get my final papers and projects done early enough to have a very extended vacation- 20 days. WOW.
We will be heading to Newport (The Coast- very original for Spring Break right??) for a few days. That will be a great time of ocean-viewing.
I organized a meeting with friends from CO last night and it turned out very good. We watched the Princess and the Frog. What a great movie. It has been such a long time since a 2-D Old School Animation by hand, and I missed it. Don't get me wrong, the fancy, "looks-real-almost" computer animated films are great, but The Princess and the Frog is priceless.
We also played two lively games of Imaginiff. If you have tried this game out, you should. Its really fun, people just start cracking up and can't stop when this game is played. And to think that I did not even know anything about this game when I picked it up.

Early times
So, as always, I come in late to my College group because of my Research and Writing class. It starts at 4:30 and goes to 7:15 and is in Monmouth and our college group starts at 7ish in Salem, so I always race (not literally) back to church to get there in time for the worship. Anyways, I make it in time for the last few songs of worship, then we sit down for the sermon/talk and Matt starts going about his topic in Romans and then all of a sudden looking at me stops dead in his tracks....
"Dude, those are awesome chops, man..." He is referring to my facial hair. It was pretty funny. He spend about a minute talking about them.
I do happen to be able to create some good facial hair that some people are jealous of. I guess thats what happens when you need to shave by the summer of your 8th grade year.

Im not Following the Example!
What kind of people did Jesus like to be around?
Were they the ones who loved him and listened to his every word?
Were they the ones who were in the church all the time?
The ones who read the scriptures?
The ones who obeyed him?
The answer, at least what I have read, is the ones who needed him the most. Jesus did not like to be around the Pharisees, they were people who made themselves look good in view of the others around them; made themselves look religious. Jesus went about near the tax collectors and the sinners. Jesus knew that it did not help to teach and preach to "The Choir" but rather go into the places that no one else went and talk with those that no one else would. He associated with the Scum of the earth in his day. He led by example.
Do I follow His example? I have to be honest and say NO, I don't.
Most of the time, I bypass this idea, by making excuses to myself that I am very involved in my church. "No, in a way I am placing myself around those who need God by teaching in Sunday School and Youth Group (Previously), and I am up on stage a bunch helping to lead others to God through Worship to him..." But, I think that that logic is a cop out.
If I am truly honest with myself, I have to look at my involvement at church (Which isn't a bad thing) and my UN-involvement in other aspects of life (which IS a bad thing) and say that something there needs to change. I can no longer just say that MY MINISTRY is IN the church..., I need to work on my ministry OUTSIDE of church.
I have very few non-christian friends. Partly that is because it takes me a long while to make friends, especially outside of church. But, I cannot just justify that and say its alright. I need to make a conscious effort to work on my involvement outside of the church.
I think that this will help me in my pursuit of God. May you and I constantly be in a pursuit of The Author and Perfecter of Our Faith.

Date of Birth and the Theory of Evolution
Today is the Day of my Birth, Twenty-Six years ago.
When I think of all the things that I have been blessed with, a family that loves and cares about me, good friends, health (for the most part), the opportunity to get an education and do what I like, a relationship with the Lord God... I am just amazed.
I think about too, what I have seen in my lifetime so far. Now I have not lived ALL that long, but I lived long enough to see the beginning of the internet era. When I was born, the internet was not created yet. We had to wait for Al Gore to help us out.... Just Kidding. But in actuality, the internet has changed so much.
Take a look at some of the snap shots that I took of some key internet pages when they first came out...

Google.com on December 2, 1998
How did I know that Google was going to be the biggest phenomenon on the internet?
Im just that good.
MySpace.com on October 3, 2003
I don't know why I felt in 2003 that MySpace needed a print screen, but I did.
Facebook.com on August 6, 2005
Again, I just felt in 2005 that Facebook would be great someday.
I am just kidding, I did not take those screenshots on the date, but this morning.
It really has been interesting seeing the changes in the web from the original boring pages to more exciting things using flash and java and whatnot. Back then, there was not much on the web, but wow has that changed. Now I can find pages dedicated to television shows, Dogs, equipment, flashlights, any product you want to sell, even pages on poop (if you really want to find it I bet you could, I haven't looked and dont really intend to)
I used to get online to do a bit or research, but NOW I am on constantly, looking for things, buying things, communicating with others, searching out answers to anything, finding out how to do something in particular, writing my Blog. It is pretty amazing what can be done via the web now.
I am just in awe of wondering what the world wide web will look like 10 years down the road with Web 3.0
