My Everything

I have been in love for a few years now. The lyrics to the song Everything by Lifehouse just is amazing. The way they use their lyrics and dynamics to portray need and passion just gives me chills. When I am listening to this song by myself in the car, I blast it (partly because of how quiet it starts out, but partly because of how much I love it) and I sing my lungs out.  Take a look at the lyrics:

Find me here, speak to me
I want to feel You, I need to hear You
You are the light that's leading me
To the place where I find peace again

You are the strength that keeps me walking
You are the hope that keeps me trusting
You are the light to my soul
You are my purpose, You're everything

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and You give me rest
You hold me in Your hands, You won't let me fall
You steal my heart, and You take my breath away
Would You take me in, take me deeper now

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?
And how can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?

'Cause You're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything, everything
You're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything, everything

You're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything, everything
You're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything, everything

And how can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?
How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?
Would You tell me, how could it be any better than this?

I don't think there is a way to watch that video and listen to the words and not cry. It just doesn't seem possible- at least not for me.

I had this song on my playlist for quite a while before it and liked it but never really appreciated it until a Family Camp at FBC Bend when our guest speaker- Andre, sang the song. It really spoke to me there and I must listen to it at least once a month ever since. Let it challenge you.... Can we truthfully say to God- "You're all I want, You're all I need, You're my Everything."
May that statement be true of all of us.
